Geito One Off
Recently I had the opportunity to work in close quarters with an up and coming Irish designer brand. Led by Gwen McNulty, her idea was to try and capture the original wearings underneath the traditional Japanese kimonos, this influenced everything from the cut, to the fabric, to the trimmings adorned onto them. Having just graduated from IADT with an Honors in New Media Studies, I have a good understanding of the Social Media landscape, and thus was given the role of Head of Marketing and Content Production. In this role I coordinated timely and appropriate posts. I took, edited and formatted the photos that were used in the social media campaign. In total we ran the campaign for two months, in that two months, we sold 95% of the inventory that was created for the campaign, will garnering over 1000 likes on social media, with a interactive 200 followers with our instagram account @geito_one_off.
I created 33 unique posts for the social media campaign, from graphic design work to inform about our opening, to the actual photos used in our campaigns. It was an incredibly humbling experience seeing the work that gets put into starting a business, and garnering support for a unknown brand was an interesting challenge. I delved into SEO, making sure the hashtags and metadata matched popular search terms at the time of posting, as well as posting at the time where our followers seemed to be the most active, to garner more attention.
